My name is Frank Beaney, and I have the honour of being your host. I'd offer you a drink but I haven't found a plug-in that supports it yet!
This site started out as just another personal homepage, until I realised that I rarely visited personal homepages (and hardly ever revisited them!). I've tried to do something a little different here with a bit of (hopefully!) useful reference material and some (hopefully!) entertaining light reading.
The idea for the "Sea of Tranquility" theme came after a particularly stressful day at the office! Although the site has changed substantially since its first incarnation, I think the idea still holds true; it's a place for a brief respite from an increasingly unfriendly world.
Think of pure white sandy beaches, clear blue skies, warm crystal waters, palm trees, a convenient beach bar and someone nice to rub in the sun lotion... (Yes, I know it's got nothing to do with this site, but it is a nice thing to think about!)
The Sea of Tranquility has had a fair number of visitors, for a non sex-related personal website! Via email I've received various compliments (from the UK, US, Australia and Canada, amongst others), various requests for technical help (from the UK, US, Czechoslovakia and Indonesia, amongst others) and even a few job offers (mainly UK, although one was in Rotterdam!). (For future reference, the first and third of these categories are generally more welcome!)
